Savouring a cup of Dalgona Coffee made with espresso

In the time of staying home for preventing coronavirus, many young people have tried to make a cup of Dalgona coffee. Because of its simplicity, this drink rapidly has become a new social-media phenomenon. Today, Robust Coffee will share you the recipe on how to make it. A little change here is instead of using instant coffee, I try to use fresh coffee for a new special version that gives the best flavour. Here's how:

Step-by-step to make a perfect cup of Dalgona

#1: Making 30ml or 60ml of espresso coffee. I recommend you use honey processed coffee beans.

#2: Mix equal parts of fresh coffee and sugar (2 tbsp) in a bowl

#3: Whisk vigorously with a stand mixer, hand mixer for about 5 - 10 minutes

#4: Pour some milk into a glass, add ice cubes if desired, and top it off with the whipped coffee mix

For several years, this drink has been enjoyed in Macau and India, where it’s better known as Phenti Hui Coffee, whipped coffee, or an Indian style Cappuccino. Its newfound title supposedly comes from the fact that the texture of the whipped foam topping the drink resembles a popular South Korean candy called Dalgona – a honeycomb candy made with sugar, oil, and baking soda.

If you’re feeling cooped-up during this difficult period of social distancing — or if you’re just feeling adventurous — try out this quick Dalgona coffee recipe!
