Rô's Coffee Bike

From their great love for coffee, Vincent and Wallace have written the journey to finding the crown of Mr Rô – a prince whose mission is to introduce the traditional Vietnamese Robusta coffee. Mr Rô travelled from the vast mountains of Central Highlands to the peaceful coastal land until he finally settled in Ha Tien.

Starting with the idea that coffee is for all classes of people, Mr Rô designed a coffee bike and sold espresso cups on the side of the road. Each customer who visited was able to select and taste different flavours of coffee such as bitter, sweet or fatty. If they have time, they can sit down and chat in a small garden, surrounded by roses and green vegetables.

Later on, the inspiration from the third wave of coffee influenced him to produced fine Robusta coffee,  a special honey processed coffee. He went on to designate the special honey processed coffee as the signature product of his coffee stand.

​

Day after day, selling coffee from his coffee bike, he communicates and tells different inspirational stories to his customer. If someone asks him, “what does coffee teach you about life?”. He will reply, “take it easy”. In the journey to restore one’s tranquillity and keep calm in the midst of everyday life, coffee will ensure this journey is filled with happiness. Let us follow Mr. Rô’s passion for coffee and “take it easy”.

Coffee beans

In his appreciation for the traditional Vietnamese coffee beans, Mr Rô provides his customers fine Robusta coffee, originated from Bao Loc plateau, Lam Dong Province. Each coffee bean is selected according to a strict process. The fruit is only picked at the peak of its ripeness. Then it will be processed by two main methods: dry processing and honey processing. After processing, the green coffee beans are divided into three sizes: 13, 16, and 18. In addition, the faulty beans are eliminated to ensure the best quality: taste, acidity, body, and aroma. The finished coffee beans are then stored in a cool and dry place to help the beans retain moisture according to SCA standards.

 

In order to ensure the freshness of the coffee beans, the beans are roasted only when customers want to use them. This process also adheres to certain roasting profiles. Robust Coffee has two roast level: medium-dark and dark. Roasted coffee beans are stored in specialized bins and placed in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.

The process of grinding the coffee beans depends on customer needs. They could also choose the method of brewing their coffee: filter or espresso. The beans grinding size is fixed according to the standard of Robusta coffee beans so that the extraction process ensures the best flavour.
